Steven Stern

Founder / Partner

Steven Stern is one of the founding partners of Stern & Schurin LLP. Steven’s practice focuses on intellectual property involving patents, trademarks, trade dress and copyrights. His most recent work involves the representation of clients operating across a broad range of industries, including apparel, building materials, computer software, cosmetics, cryptocurrencies and NFTs, durable medical equipment and medical devices, electronics, retail consumer products and water conservation products.

As an extensive component of his practice, Steven routinely counsels and litigates on behalf of Amazon clients dealing with complaints and lawsuits stemming from their business activities on Amazon.com, including (1) infringement and counterfeiting complaints; (2)unauthorized advertising and sales of products on Amazon; (3) MAP and IMAP violations; (4)others selling different products on client listings and ASINs; (5) Amazon account violations and suspensions; (6) other complaints and Amazon issues.

Steven has also successfully litigated on behalf of clients in the field of insurance coverage disputes involving “Advertising Injury.” Mr. Stern regularly reviews insurance policies for clients, provides opinions on “Advertising Injury,” and counsels those clients in their searches for appropriate “Advertising Injury” insurance coverage.

Steven’s intellectual property knowledge and experience extend to domestic and foreign patent prosecution, where he is involved in the preparation and prosecution of a wide variety of patent applications for his clients in areas involving computer software and internet applications. Mr.Stern also issues many opinions for clients seeking advice on infringement and validity of patents in many advanced fields of technology, including computer technology and engineering.

Prior to founding Stern & Schurin LLP, Steven was a partner at an intellectual property boutique firm in New York City.
